Obituary

CONTI, Gloria Claire Lang – Gloria passed away peacefully on April 23, 2020 at 95 years old. She was the beloved wife of 58 years to Frank Conti Sr., cherished mother of Diana Conti, Elisa Conti, Frank Conti Jr and Carol Conti Norton, and dear sister to Audrey Stroupe.

Born December 15, 1924 to August and Josephine Lang, Gloria was a long-time San Mateo County resident where she lived most of her life. The most important thing to Gloria was her large extended family, consisting of her four children, eight grandchildren (Rachel, Andrew, Adam, Morgan, Gabriel, Emily, Patrick and Sean), and 11 great-grandchildren (Amanda, Logan, Hailey, Jaden, Mateo, Mason, Grace, Ryan, Lilah, Quinn, and Ryker). All those in her large extended family, honor her for her loving and kind spirit. She was happiest when she hosted large gatherings of her family and close friends. She was a devoted friend to many, and was a volunteer for several organizations that help people in need.

Her quick wit and kind spirit will be missed dearly by all who knew her. A Memorial Reception honoring her life will be held at a later date when we can all gather together again and share our memories of Gloria who was a big part of the lives of so many.

Dear family and friends,

We know you have probably heard that Gloria Conti passed away on April 23, 2020. We have appreciated talking with many of you and feeling your love during this difficult time. Here is a little bit more of who she was and how she spent her final days.

Gloria, at 95 was emotionally active but in declining health. She was surrounded by her children daily in her last days as she was under hospice care. Though her body was weak she continued with her favorite activity of going out to dinner until the restaurants closed in early March due to the COVID-19 virus.

All those in our large extended family, honor her for her loving and kind spirit. She was compassionate, generous in every way, and always wanted to help when she saw someone in need. The most important thing to her was family. She graciously hosted large family gatherings where she did the cooking and organized all of it. One of Gloria's favorite holidays was Christmas. This past Christmas she expressed how joyful she was to be visited by her children and many of her grandchildren and great grandchildren, who live is various locations throughout the country.

Gloria loved music and theater, remembered the words to every song she heard, and was a whiz at word puzzles. She was a good and kind friend to many, and was a volunteer for several organizations that help people in need.

Gloria lived a long and loving life filled with kindness to others. All who knew her loved her and were grateful in countless ways that she was part of their lives, yet she was unassuming and did not like the spotlight. We feel her enormous love with us even now. We take comfort in believing she is in a better place. Her loving spirit will be celebrated at a later date when we can all gather together again without boundaries to honor and share our memories of Gloria. Rest in peace.

Please feel free to add your comments or pictures. If we were all together now that's what we would be doing.
