Tribute & Message From The Family

Moises Pineda Canda was born on April 15, 1941 in Mexico, Pampanga, Philippines. He and his only sister would lose their father Nicanor Canda and mother Gertrudes Pineda to the casualties of World War II at a very young age. His paternal aunts, Concepcion Canda and Asuncion Canda, would raise and support Moises in obtaining a degree in Accounting from the University of the East in Manila, Philippines.

Moises would meet the love of his life, Marietta Salazar, at Ajinomoto and would marry her on April 17, 1971. He would leave everything he knew behind in the Philippines to seek a new future with his new bride in the United States. Moises exhibited his strong work ethic and adept accounting skills at Sherman Clay, Stewart Warner and PWS. He earned the trust of his clients and colleagues and was respected for his ability to make objective decisions. At Innovative Laundry, he had a chance to pass on his rich experience to his son, Ernie, who now owns a successful appliance business.

Living a simple and humble life, Moises enjoyed having an evening drink of brandy, watching his beloved Giants, Warriors and 49ers and cashing in on a winning trifecta at Bay Meadows. He always kept things light, remained calm during stressful situations and was fiercely loyal to his friends and family.

On October 4, 2020, Moises passed away peacefully with his family by his side. He is survived by his older sister Fe, two sons Edgardo and Ernest, loving wife Marietta, grandchildren Kinley, Camden and Mateo, his faithful dog Bernie and countless loving relatives and friends. His body will be laid down to rest at Woodlawn Cemetery in Colma.
