Tribute & Message From The Family

Our precious Carla, passed away peacefully at home in Burlingame CA, surrounded by her loving family who meant the world to her. Born in Oakland to Karl and Edna Loeffler and loving sister to her pre-deceased brother, Scott. Carla was a loving and devoted wife to Neal of 56 years. She leaves behind her daughter Denise Soucy (Roger), her four sons, Matthew (Lisa), Michael (Chris), Scott (Chere) and Terrance. Carla's four grandchildren: Derek Jensen, Christa Dean, Erin and Collin Lucett and great-grandchildren: Jameson and Laila Dean, and Hadley-Rose Jensen adored their Grandma and Grandma "Lu". Carla's extended family composed of loving brothers-in-law, sisters-in law, nieces, nephews, and cousins are additionally deeply saddened by her passing.

Carla graduated from Notre Dame High school in Belmont in 1954. In addition to being an amazing Mom to 5 children, her occupations included bank teller for Wells Fargo, and instructional assistant for 12 years, teaching children at McKinley Elementary and Burlingame Intermediate School. Carla possessed a strong faith and was a dedicated member of St. Catherine's of Siena Catholic Church in Burlingame for the past 51 years. She volunteered selflessly, teaching catechism to children for 25 years and RCIA classes (Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults) to adults who wished to convert to the Catholic faith. She additionally became a Eucharistic Minister and provided communion to senior citizens who lived at Sterling Court in San Mateo.

Carla, with Neal were incredible friends to many and enjoyed traveling and laughter- filled social gatherings with those friends. But clearly, Carla's greatest source of joy was living her faith and spending invaluable time with her family whom she loved dearly and who loved her in return even more.
Due to present restrictions on social gatherings, a private rosary will be held on Monday, May 25th in the evening followed by a private funeral on Tuesday, May 26th at Crosby N Gray in Burlingame. Attendance is limited to Carla's children and their spouses. A memorial mass and reception for extended family and friends will occur at a later date. For those interested, donations can be made to Mission Hospice and Home Care in memory of Carla Lucett: 1670 South Amphlett Blvd, Suite 300, San Mateo, CA 94402.

Condolence & Memory Journal

I Love you Auntie Carla! Thank you for all of your kindness and such warm memories! That million dollar smile and the priceless hugs and laughs. You and Uncle Neal are forever in my heart. I remember your laugh and Uncle Neal's laugh - my best memories! I Love you! I remember every single Niner hat, sweater and shirt you gifted me. I remember all the casseroles, all the hugs and all the kisses. I remember it all and will never forget! I Love you and I miss you and I am comforted only by knowing that you are looking down on us!

We deeply miss our Auntie Carla's smiles, warm embraces and the way she would listen intently and with interest to people of all ages - especially the children - how she would light up listening to their stories with profound delight. That drew people to her. Our memories are warm and full of color - mainly red and gold - but colorful nonetheless! Auntie Carla, with our beloved Uncle Neal, would talk 9er shop with our son - and they made such a profound impact on our young daughter that she holds them so close to her heart. Such fond memories. Memories now that we reflect upon and realize how Auntie Carla is interwoven into our lives, our decisions, views - in this way she lives on in us, through us. This deep loss is hard for us - especially not being able to gather and grieve together in person and share our stories face to face. Know our hearts are with you, our prayers and our love.

RC, Jameson, Laila and I are thankful for the blessed time we have been given with Grandma Lu. We are relieved to know that she is resting in paradise with our Heavenly Father. She will be missed and her memory will live on for generations to come.
