Tribute & Message From The Family

Beloved husband for 65 years of Restie Dubose, the love of his life;
Devoted father/father-in-law of Rebecca Padulo, Anthony DuBose and his wife Imee, Katherine Fuerst, and Paul DuBose and his wife Laurie;
Cherished grandfather of Brittany Fuerst, Laryn Vella, Raquel Dishner, Tamara DuBose, Kristopher DuBose, Amy DuBose, Nina DuBose, Lauren DuBose, Camryn DuBose, and Corinne DuBose;
Esteemed great-grandfather of Kaia Dishner, Takumi Dishner, and Tristan Fuerst.

Reagan was the only child of Reagan Layne DuBose and Leatha Dale Hall, born in Dallas, Texas. He attended Rice University and Vallejo Junior College, and entered service in the Air Force from 1953 to 1957, where he was a nuclear technician, rank of staff sergeant. He married Restie Lontoc in 1953. After moving to Florida, he was the first graduate of Brevard Engineering College (now the Florida Institute of Technology) with a Degree in electrical engineering, and was honored as the first graduate by being made Grand Marshall at the FIT homecoming events in October of 2014. After leaving military service with an honorable discharge, Reagan worked at RCA in Florida, and then Avco in Massachusetts. Along with four other partners, Reagan then founded Hycor, which is now Loral-Hycor, where he was VP of Engineering, his most important work being the development of anti-radar technology still in use around the world today.

Reagan's hard work allowed him to retire at 57, continuing his love of sailing, and then pursuing a lifelong dream by obtaining his pilot's license. He was able to make numerous sailing passages along the eastern coast of the US, and throughout the Caribbean, and his flying activities included volunteering for Angel Flight in the Florida area, and flying cross country doing genealogical research on the DuBose family. Not content to rest in retirement, he partnered with son Anthony in his company Workforce Medical.

Reagan was something of a Renaissance man, with so many diverse interests – community theatre (his best role performing as Professor Pickering in "My Fair Lady"); music, especially singing in harmony with wife Restie; playing numerous instruments such as piano, ukulele and several wind instruments; ballroom dancing with his best partner wife Restie; watching and playing tennis (a lifelong love); photography; computers; and architectural design, designing and building two lovely homes during his lifetime. A lifelong learner, he loved to read, particularly science fiction, and never stopped studying whatever was his latest interest.

Family: Reagan and Restie's story is one of lasting and enduring love: suffering family resistance to a mixed marriage, losing twin boys in their first pregnancy, moving to pursue employment opportunities from West Coast to East Coast and from South to North; starting life with nothing but each other, a will to work hard, to love faithfully, and determination to succeed; to build a family (Reagan was an only son of an only son, and wanted a large family), and to support them and love them. They blessed others as they had been blessed, their charity reaching as far as the Philippine Islands.

Quotes: Dad loved to say "ugga-ugga-boo, ugga-boo-boo-ugga" to his grandchildren and his other very favorite saying was "I can resist anything but temptation!" usually quoted as he was contemplating dessert, "A place for everything and everything in its place", and his morning greeting, "Another day in which to excel!"
